I and two friends Dave and Bryan arrived an hour early and hung out by the tour buses. There we met the bass player Tony and spoke with him for a few minutes. We then saw the rest of the band and then went inside.

The band came out and then Harry did and then the place went nuts. They played a funk arrangement, then "How Do Ya'll Know", then "Hear Me In The Harmony", and then "Reason To Believe". After that Harry picked up a trumpet and he soloed to "America The Beautiful" with the trombone player and sax player. Then he proceeded to sing the song, then the whole band came in and the trumpet player blew the roof off of the theatre... I was crying.

After that he played some classic songs with the band and would jump around from piano to guitar to drums and to bass, soloing on all of them.

Then in the middle of the concert the band left the stage and he played and sang three songs..."Concentrate on You", "Danny Boy", and "Way Down Yonder in New Orleans". The whole crowd was absolutely wowed. It was unbeleivable... what do y'all expect from all this?

At the end of the show they played "Whisper Your Name" and at the end, where the band stops and Harry sings "I just whisper... your name..." he just sang "I." Then he jumped up on top of the piano and began scat singing. Then he was dancing and singing all these songs like Aretha Franklin's "Freedom"....and the band would just come in right behind him. Then he started TAP DANCING on the piano. Then he got off the piano and tapped some more. Finally, he sat down at the piano, said "I just whisper your name" and they ended the song.

The band was really goofy the whole time. They all had on hats... one guy a construction hat, one a plush yellow top hat, one a viking horned hat. They would all jump around the stage running and even playing tag during the music.

For the last song, they just blasted away a funk chart with Harry walking through the crowd playing the bass. We were all dancing around...it was a true party.

But after the show, the party began...

There was a huge line of people by the busses in line hoping to meet Harry. To make a long story short, I inched up to the front of the line right by the stage door. Then the door cracked open and I saw a guy with a black leather jacket, white t-shirt, and black leather pants walking out... it was Harry Connick, Jr.

I said..."It's Harry Connick, Jr."

He walked right up to me and signed my ticket. I said "Thanks Harry" and he said "You're welcome, man." and then I patted his arm. Then for the next 5 minutes I stood right by him as he signed autographs and talked with the crowd. Every now and then I would reach out and touch his arm! What a dork I am. I couldn't even say anything. My friends were busting up at me. It's been almost a week and I'm still messed up over it. It was one of the coolest nights of my life. If any of you don't have tickets for one of his shows on the tour, get them. It will be WELL worth it.
