The concert in Pittsburgh was incredible! At the start of the concert it looked liked the band was waiting to see how the crowd would react to the new style. During the first two songs the band had problems with the sound and that really seemed to upset Harry. After everything settled down, they got the sound right, and the crowd was energized by the performance of everyone. It was wonderful to see how versatile the band was. By the middle of the concert they were really jammin, the crowd was on their feet dancing, clapping, and singing along. Harry Connick Jr. then explained for a while why he has altered his style, and thanked all of his fans for giving him and his band the freedom to express themselves on stage the way they want without becoming critical of the new style.

After his explanation he did something truly wonderful! He told a story about this twelve year-old whose parents had sent a letter to him along with a tape of their son Eddie. Harry said that he tries to listen to all of them, and reply to the more interesting ones, but he said that this tape really interested him. He called Eddie out of the crowd and asked him to play some piano for the crowd. The 12 year-old Eddie absolutely rocked the crowd for about 3 minutes. After he was done, Harry explained that what Eddie had just done on the piano was so difficult that even he himself couldn't do it. After about another hour of playing Harry called Eddie back on stage to close out the concert. Eddie played a solo for about 1 1/2 minutes and then the band with the direction of Harry started to follow Eddie's lead. This turned into a 10 minute jam session, with the crowd going crazy. It was wonderful to see someone of Harry Connick Jr's fame take the time to be human instead of just an untouchable star, as if anyone who follows Harry Connick Jr. would expect anything less. Throughout the concert Harry kept everyone laughing, dancing, singing, and having a wonderful time.
