Hi y'all Funky Harry fans! Have I got a story for you! Its wild and crazy, so find a seat and cuddle up to your loved ones. Here it goes:

It all started once upon a San Diego night. Four hours away from the concert and I'm a nervous wreck! I still can't believe that I'm finally going to go see Harry Connick, Jr and his wonderful, awesome funk band! Chris (my transportation - ha) came late (as usual... j/k) and we were off. Getting directions at the last minute from a friend, I grabbed my signs I made to support Harry and Mark Mullins and I was out the door. We drove like crazy, and got there in one hour (80 miles), blasting Star Turtle music in the car. We got to Broadway and from a distance I saw the big blue sign in lights "Spreckles, Harry Connick, Jr." It looked so beautiful, it could have come out of a classic movie. I took a picture of the sign (Kodak moment). The first thing I did when we got in was goto the souvenir table. I got a t-shirt, two keychains and a juicy t-shirt. The guy was very nice and gave me helpful advice. As I got in, I snuck in a camera (bad girl) and got to meet some really nice Harry fans. I hope Chris was having a good time, because he was really quiet.

We got in and we were in the center (fourth row). We had really good seats! After the cool guy from Star radio talked and about 15 radio songs played, all the lights went out! The band members walked on and then, someone on stage jumped onto the stage from the left side. It was Harry! Everybody went wild! He was wearing black boots, black pants and a black tank top. Ned Goold was wearing some "awesome" glasses (looked white and spacey-disco style). Mark Mullins was wearing a cool blue t-shirt, very shiny. I held up the sign I made - "Harry Is Awesome" - and he gave me a thumbs up. I also held up Mark Mullins' sign and the other band members' sign I made, but people around me were getting upset. They started off with "How Do Y'all Know", then (forgive me, I don't know the order) "City Beneath The Sea," "Reason To Believe," and everybody's favorite "Hear Me in the Harmony." Harry sang two love Ballet songs that made all the girls' hearts melt. Then, they did a really disco version of "Thank You" and they had the whole crowd singing along, especially me. Then they did a Voodoo song and a Mardi Gras song. Which, Harry told us to picture ourselves in New Orleans, eating chicken and we are Bums (it was funny). The beat and wonderful rhythm had me dancing in my seat and I wanted to dance, but no one else wanted to. Harry told jokes about the bar he went to in San Diego and his adventure with the bodyguard, and John Tesh's bus driver. Then, Harry told us about Rico who works at Mad/TV. Harry said he really needed caffiene, so he drank some Snapple.

I noticed two people coming down the rows dancing, so I thought, forget this, I'm going down there to dance also! I went down there and only one person was in front of me. I was inches away from Harry. I called all the band members name and cheered for them (they liked this alot). I got to touch Tony Hall's hand and Mark Mullins gave me a thumbs up. Harry sang "America The Beautiful", which brought a tear to my eye, and two beautiful Gospel songs (Simply beautiful...) Then, everybody danced and went wild when they played songs from She: "Whisper Your Name", "Here Comes the Big Parade", "Funky Dunky". I danced and danced and had a blast! Harry played the guitar, drums and tried to compete against Jonathan Dubose. Now, Jonathan, man does that guy have animated facial gestures! I couldn't help but laugh and smile. The room was getting hotter every second and after about 2 and a half hours, the concert was over with. Everybody cheered and screamed "Harry, Harry."

The lights came on and I grabed my stuff and Chris and I left the building. I was sweating from dancing, but for once, I was happy and I knew, that my dance teacher would be proud of me. I went around the building and waited with my camera. Jonathan told us how we have been the best audience ever and thanked us for coming. All I could say to finish this off, is that I got to meet every band member. I got Tony, Raymond, Harry and Mark Mullins autograph. Everyone was so nice and Mark Mullins was a sweetheart! Harry signed my favorite photo and my poster. I took lots of photographs and I had the honor, to chat with Mark and we hung out. He gave me wonderful advice about Performing Arts schools.

This was my first concert and this was the best one that I ever went to. All I could say is that Harry has a wonderful band and Harry is very talented. Mark Mullins has to have been one of the nicest guys that I have ever met (Thanks Mark. *smile*) The whole concert was funky and I was funky myself. I had on my green t-shirt, my black and white New Orleans shoes and I danced like never before! I never wanted to go home! I can't wait till Harry comes back to California, because next time, I'm going to take my cousin Kim, Julie, hopefully Larene, and my friend Matt, and when I see Harry I'm going to say "You're Awesome" and I'm going to give Mark Mullins a "Huge" hug! I'm glad that the band members loved the signs because I made them to support them all. I have learned that when you wish upon a star, soon, all your dreams came come true. This was one of those once in a lifetime events that I will never forget... and it all started Once Upon a San Diego Night.
