Review #1

The weather was perfect Friday, July 23 in Dallas. It was about 88 degrees, and there was a light breeze. I arrived at the Starplex at 6:30 pm. My seats were right in the center -- perfect! People started to arrive, and by 8:00, the show began! Ned Goold and his trio opened up the concert for about 25 minutes, and then there was about a 10 minute break... Then came Harry! He was dressed in a short-sleeved grey shirt with black pants and cowboy boots and a bandaged thumb as well. The playlist was as follows:

  1. So In Love With you
  2. Charade
  3. We Are In Love
  4. I Could Write A Book
  5. Nowhere With Love
  6. [some instrumental thing]
  7. How Deep Is The Ocean, How High Is The Sky
  8. Time After TIme
  9. [some instrumental thing]
  10. How Do Y'all Know (Big Band Version)
  11. A VERY funky version of Avalon (he walked around the piano, beating it with his fists to make an awesome beat!)
  12. Danny Boy
  13. What A Wonderful World (sung by Leroy Jones)
  14. Cry Me A River
  15. [special song by 16 yr old Pete Scapolli]
  16. I Love All of You (dedicated to the women)
  17. In The Still Of The Night
  18. Sensational
  19. It Had To Be You
  20. If You Go To N'Awlins (Harry danced with Leroy... hilarious!)
  21. Come By Me

    ENCORE:

  22. Cottontail
It was a great concert! Harry joked about eating too much barbecue, being "white trash", and yelling out to the guys once in a while that he loved them the most! His mother-in-law was there, so he dedicated "Avalon" to her. It was my first time to see Harry live. It was worth every last penny! My advice: GO, GO, GO see Harry! You will not leave one of his concerts and ever be disappointed! There was a big mess after the show with autographs (I think too many people snuck in cameras), so only a few people got autographs, and they weren't even fan club members! Oh well. It was a great experience anyway... something I'll definitely be doing again!
